Can you believe its March?!!

I can’t believe how long its been since I’ve posted something here. Life has been ridiculously hectic these past few months. I thought this term was supposed to be my chill term and that last term was my stress-ey one- BOY WAS I WRONG. I’m in labs everyday from 9.30 to 5.30 (at least!), and my schedule is just insane. A night when I’m back home before 12am is a rare, rare achievement. Next week I’ll be running the Meadows Half Marathon (21 km!), then performing for the Modern Dance Society Show for two nights, then performing for the Edinburgh Colours of Malaysia show. I think doing nothing doesn’t suit me but I do feel like I’m being spread too thin- I’ll try to sum up the last two months!

-Nadia and I have discovered the joys of clubbing just the two of us - We absolutely DETEST going to clubs where people try to chat (um hello, stay in a pub, or stay at home! no entrance fee!) or try to pull! When we go out its just pure dancing for three hours straight- I can’t even contemplate not wearing sneakers to go out anymore! =)

- Went to Germany for a weekend and stayed with our mate who lives there- We did nothing touristy, and instead ate homecooked meals, played Wii and ate a LOT of good cheese!

- Watched Maroon 5 & Lifehouse! Both were amazing but I have to say Maroon 5 sound SO MUCH BETTER LIVE than they do on their record! They’re not pop-ey at all and just kind of rock it out onstage! And Adam Levine is reaaallly good at getting the crowd going. I think their show had the best crowd interaction I’ve ever seen.

- Co-emceed the ISC International Evening! If there’s anything I will forever be grateful to my intercalated year for, it is my newfound lack of stage fright. I used to be absolutely terrible- I’d hyperventilate and not be able to breathe if I had to go in front of a crowd and speak. But now all the presentations I’ve had to do over the past year have gotten rid of that feeling for me! Yay!

- Helped organize and emceed a Medical Talk under UKEC. The Director-General of the Malaysian Ministry of Health and a Consultant from Edinburgh came and spoke to us medical students. Stressful but it went alright I think!

- Crashed the Medics Halfway Ball (crash because I’m not actually halfway yet)- it was such a good night. We spent about 6 hours (7pm-1am) in Dynamic Earth (a planetarium!) and then an hour at our Student Union, but the night passed by SO QUICKLY!!

- Lost my scholarship. Uncool =(

- A little part of me dies everytime I enter the lab each morning.

- Went to London last weekend. It was so much fun. As usual everytime I come home I feel a little sad and wonder what life would’ve been like if I was based there instead of way up here instead.

- Going for Spanish classes every Thursday in order to be reasonably coherent for A MONTH IN PERU IN SUMMER!!!!! Actually summer is shaping up to be pretty interesting. Going to Peru for some volunteering+travels (courtesy of my parents as my 21st birthday present!! aiyyeeeeeeeee!!!), then Poland for my friend’s wedding and probably a wee bit of traveling around there depending on who’s around at the time, then my graduation, then my 21st birthday which will most likely be in Edinburgh, a trip with the fam & my sister’s Masters graduation, then West Balkans (my silly friends made me believe they were changing the trip to Israel when they knew my passport wasn’t valid there! I actually believed them lol), then HOME!!!! HOMEHOMEHOMEHOME. Since nothing’s been booked yet am seriously considering skipping/cutting short West Balkans and just heading home for some late night chat at the mamak, my cat and my family. Seriously.

Also, my brother was promoted and is moving to London with my SIL, whereas my sister moved back home and started work and is graduating her Masters with a Merit. So proud of them both. Also my flatmate’s mum is in town which makes me miss my mum’s cooking. AAAAH I think I’ll just go home tomorrow la hahahhahaa. I wish.

Hope everyone is well.
