AbsenceofTitle
The longer I stay in the UK, the more sure I am that I do not want to spend my whole life living in Malaysia - I want to see things I wouldn’t see on a travel channel, meet people with completely different mindsets and ideas - not impossible to have that by living at home, but given a choice, I would choose a path much less traveled than the average government scholar.
On another note, I have one paper down, three more to go, and cannot WAIT for my exams to be over so that I can:
- dance myself out
- fly home to sunshine + family + NO ICE TO SLIP ON
- get my diving license!!
Also can I just say that even though I don’t condone any form of violence, I am extremely proud of my fellow students who protested against the rise in tuition fees in London. I know that my tuition fees will increase ANYWAY thanks to inflation & being an international student, and that Scotland won’t be as affected by the vote as England since Scottish people who study in Scotland don’t even pay tuition fees (and English folk pay a LOT less than what they would if they had been studying in England), but the protests just show politicians worldwide the power of the people- WE put you in power, don’t slap us in the face and expect us to be okay with it. I can’t stand politicians who get power and fame and money, and yet are seemingly oblivious to the fact that you’re supposed to be serving the people who voted for you- not screwing us over. I’m still not old enough to vote in Malaysia but I am very happy that more and more Malaysians are realizing that the whole point of democracy is that if politicians don’t deliver, VOTE THEM OUT.
Rant over. Back to my research papers!
