The Girls came over last weekend and now I am tearing inside from withdrawal symptoms loL!!
I feel that… The future holds so much promise it is practically bursting at the seams!!
There is so much to do, so much to see, so many new people to meet and so many old friends to reconnect with..!! Spring brings with it Colours of Malaysia, and (hopefully) Poland and (almost definitely) Spain, May the dreaded Years1+2 they-know-you-can’t-fit-everything-in-but-they-want-you-to-die-trying-anyway exam, and June —> GHANA!! OMFG the idea of it just boggles my mind!! The boys are getting themselves Ghanaian football shirts for the World Cup (I might get one too JUST COZ) and Nadia and I are just trying to figure out how we’re gonna live with the excitement for the next 5 months!
Its almost February of the new decade and I feel that time has just FLOWN BY. This month has been a whirl of classes {Clinical Genetics (altho I don’t remember most of it coz I spent most of the lectures sleeping.. in my bed) and now Renal}, Colours of Malaysia practices, lunch + coffee dates that need rescheduling, amazing nights out - I’m off to London tomorrow for the UKEC OGM and I feel like I’m torn whether to be looking forward to it or not. Of course I’m happy to be seeing some people I haven’t seen for a long while, but there is just SO MUCH to be done here in Edinburgh - at the moment I am so damn busy I hardly have time to breathe! Sneaking in this blog post in between lectures just coz a certain somebody *cough*Melly Ng*cough* keeps bugging me to update with my life!! LOL so here you go Bestfriend a post JUUST for you!! XD
I promise a major post on how amazing the Girls’ trip up to Edinburgh was soon, but right now I need to cook a super quick batch of fried rice before my lecture.. Byeeee!!The Girls came over last weekend and now I am tearing inside from withdrawal symptoms loL!!

This is a bit of a lengthy mengada pouty post

Totally effing hating on the fact that as I sit here in the Dubai International Airport, I can see photos of people in Edinburgh partying it up, AND see photos + fb statuses of people back home talking bout the end of Ramadhan and Raya and whatnot.

BASTARD CHILD!! I’m stuck between two worlds!!!!!!!

So, yes, I’m currently sitting in a seat with my bare feet on the floor, labbytoppy on lap and eating raya cookies that Mama stowed away in my cabin baggage for me. Its quite comfy really except for the fact that I am, you know, stuck between two worlds. Oh also that I totally spaced and forgot to eat ANYthing in the plane and am now effing effing hungry. Bodoh betul. Oh also that I should be all snuggled up in bed since its 10.00AM in the morning at home and that is so early its practically bedtime.. Instead I’m awake and forced to board a plane. Can I not just be asleep and be wheeled into the aircraft on a wheelchair or something??

I agree with Jo that leaving home this year somehow seems harder than it was the 1st time. I bawled like a baby all the way to where I had to queue to board the plane.  Maybe coz in 1st year you’re filled with all this optimism and **hope** and starry eyes and you think its gonna be all this uni funfunfun. Okay truth of course it is fun a lot of the time but once 1st year is over you know what to expect - you know that life is not all dandy there (especially Study Hell), you know the weather is usually crap and you have to do all this adjusting, having a timetable again, and that more often than not, you miss home like fff (okay for me la, I know this doesn’t apply to everyone). I think basically its all these responsibilities you have to think about instead of just lazying around and waking up at 4 pm at home and going anywhere you want whenever - no more of that when not on holiday. As I type this I think, wait, am I really doing medicine, where I will basically have no life for the next fifteen years and have responsibilities worse than medical school and EMSA such as saving people’s lives??! Sooo not a good career choice for someone who is so lazy.

I look at all these uni noobs travelling (and some with parents.. boo hoo, jealous =(  ) and I dunno whether to laugh or be envious of all their excitement. And YES of course I’m excited to go back to UK and meet people I haven’t seen in 4 months (especially my new flatmates and former housemates - KITCHENER POWER)!!! But like I said, I’m stuck halfway. Go UK miss home, go home miss UK. I should just live in Dubai. Or maybe Amsterdam, since they’re both sorta halfway.

Oh btw there were so many freaking scholars and students on my flight from KL I swear to god like one in every two people were students. Hmm I missed that whole flyingwithscholarswhilewearingblazers thing last year, I’m jealous. I did not sit next to students though I sat next to two 40-ish guys. Hmm ok question how do you know if you’re on the way back to UK?

Answer : The people you’re sitting with reek of beer.

Lol, jokes. But they were really nice though and helped me stow my luggage and find my shoes (they disappeared! Shoes not the people I sat with).

Thank you to those who came over last night and thanks too to those that brought food (had my last cheesy wedges and Ampang sloppy burger!!! Which basically saved me from complete starvation so THANK YOU). And if I didn’t manage to talk/see you before I left, sorry and you know I still love you, my batt was just almost nazak already coz I unknowingly left my bluetooth running which drained all my batt power so I couldn’t call.

I’m getting a ride from Glasgow Airport to my doorstep in Edinburgh, hurrah!! Which is GREAT news because how would I carry 45 kg worth of three suitcases + one handbag with only two hands aboard a bus and a train, alone? Hmm. How long more to board ni? Bosan dowh. Everybody at home’s still asleep and everybody in Edinburgh is still clubbing. Cis.

I shall go read a book. Oh yea btw knowing me I ALWAYS leave something behind. This time it was something so crucial to my happiness and my state of mind - MY IPOD!!! Feel my pain please!

Oh finally they’re calling us! Good morning. See you in Edinburgh!

P/S : I can see the scholars on my next flight taking a group photo. JEALOUS!!!!!
